105.2 kWh usable energy
The underfloor lithium-ion battery provides 105.2 kWh of usable energy in the selected specification. Usable capacity describes the driver-accessible operating window and differs from gross capacity.
Understand the peak figures
BMW specifies up to 397 kW outside the temporary increase, and up to 455 kW for less than ten seconds. Torque is 1,015 Nm in Sport mode and reaches 1,100 Nm with Launch Control. These peaks are distinct from continuous output.
Recover energy while slowing down
During deceleration, the drive motors can act as generators. Power electronics manage energy recovered into the high-voltage battery, while physical brakes provide additional stopping force.
